The Oscars & Vanity Fair After-Party: Fashion!

Hey Ladies,

Today I'm going to cover my picks of Best and Worst for the Oscars as well as the Vanity Fair after-party. Personally, I was a little disappointed with the fashion at the Oscars and much preferred the after-party style. Maybe that's just me! Anyway leggo...

Starting backwards with the Vanity Fair party...
I am so in love with both Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus' looks. They look stunning. Katy elegant yet still stays true to her funky style. Miley looks breathtaking in an old Hollywood glamour kind of way.

These two are little confusing to me. Well Gwen Stefani (right) is a straight of disaster. I know she has her own style but that doesn't make this a stylish! It's too old and medieval looking. Lily Collins however is looking a little too Alice in Wonderland for my liking. Not my preferred look.

These looks, I do love. First we have, the always gorgeous, Kim and Kourtney Kardashian. They both look stunning. Kourtney has the gorgeous pregnancy glow also! Vampire Diaries star, Nina Dobrev also look elegant in black. Love all the looks here.

Here we have Selena Gomez and Sofia Vergara. They both look amazing. They never seem to fail in the Fashion department.

Onto the main event, the Oscars/Academy Awards!

Here is Meryl Streep, who was a winner of the evening. Congrats Meryl! Fashion-wise I can't decide whether I like it or not. Let me know what you guys think! I'm on the same terms with Sandra Bullock's look. I'm not a huge fan of either but I think I prefer Meryl Streep's overall though Sandra's does look good in this photo.

How beautiful and regal does Gwyneth Paltrow look? I love it. Best dressed for sure.

The infamous Angelina Jolie. Whatever about the dress but that ridiculous pose? I really don't understand it... One of the most talked about things of the night! I feel as if people will say it's amazing just because she's Angelina Jolie. Not really feeling it personally though.

Bereneice Bejo who stars in The Artist is first up wearing Ellie Saab. Not really a fan personally. It's not awful but the styling is what ruins the look. Now the bootyliscious J-LO! This photo makes it look gorge but I really don't like it overall. Look up other pics and you might see what I mean!

My final looks of the evening; Penelope Cruz and Octavia Spencer (star of The Help). They both look wonderful. Penelope is very fairytale but she looks stunning. Octavia's is perfect. Proof you don't have to be a size 2 to be beautiful. She looks flawless and congratulations to her for winning Best Supporting Actress.

Thanks for reading! Hope you enjoyed and don't forget to comment below telling my your thoughts on the fashion of the evening.

Muppets for OPI including Swatches!

Hey Dolls,

I received the Muppets for OPI mini collection for my birthday last November as a gift from a friend of mine and have been using them ever since! They're such pretty colours. I know a lot of people seemed slightly disappointed with the colours, but not me. The colours included in the set are Wocka Wocka! ; Excuse Moi! ; Warm and Fozzie and Designer..De Better! How cute are those names?

Overview of the Mini Collection
The Polishes come in 3.75ml bottles so not very big but I still haven't ran out of any of mine. Below is an image of one coat of each shade.
One Coat of each polish: Thumb: Wocka Wocka; Index F: Excuse Moi; Middle F: Warm & Fozzie;
 Ring F: Designer De Better
Wocka Wocka! (thumb) is perfectly opaque in one coat which is amazing. It is what I would describe as a ruby red and is a very pretty shade. It has a really pretty shiny finish.

Excuse Moi! Is probably my favourite shade because it's pink and glittery! The base is a bubblegum pink and there's fine glitter as well as bigger circles of multi-coloured glitter. It's gorgeous and girly! It can be used as a top coat or do about 2-3 coats for full opacity (as seen below). Be warned that it is extremely difficult to remove unless it chips first, which happens easily so I would suggest definitely using a top coat.

Warm & Fozzie I love this shade too as I think it's very unique. It is a gorgeous bronzy shade with tiny gold reflects. I LOVE! Only downside is it takes 3 coats to achieve full opacity which is quite a lot but we'll live.

Designer..De Better! This is a delightful silver with teeny gold reflect glitter, which makes it a bit different. Takes about 2 coats for full opacity.
Full Opacity. Left to Right: Designer..De Better; Warm & Fozzie; Excuse Moi!
Overall, I love these colours. They dry pretty quickly, which is very important to me as I'm not very patient waiting for nail polish to dry! Leave them about five minutes or so and you'll be good to go.
You can buy them here for £12.68.

Thanks for reading! Have you tried these polishes? What's you're favourite polish?

Look for Less: Selena Gomez!

Hey Girlies,

The second post of the "Look For Less" Segment. This time, the stunning Selena Gomez. I'm a big fan of Miss G and her style too. She's gorgeous and seems like such a sweetie. I'm pretty jealous of her boyf though!

I love this look. This photo was taken a couple months back when the couple were in Paris.

The tights are these exact tights, from Henry Holland. I believe they can be purchased from Urban Outfitters but I couldn't find them on the EU website so here is an alternative website: http://www.tightsplease.co.uk/brands/henry-holland/chain-suspender-tights/

This skirt is pretty similar to Sel's. It's only a €17.75 too available from Forever 21 here: http://www.forever21.com/EU/Product/Product.aspx?br=F21&Category=btms&ProductID=2011409005

This is actually the exact scarf Selena wore. It's available here: http://www.singer22.com/sf105-love-black.html?source=shopstyle&src=gan

A cheaper alternative is this tribal scarf for £15 from River Island.  It's a little different but I love it! It's so cute and perfect for Spring and Summer.

Paired with this cute jacket would really pull together this look. It's from ASOS and now on sale and down to £36.00.

You could really pair any white/cream top or shirt with the skirt but here's just an idea from River Island for £36.

Finally some suede boots and you're set. These are from ASOS and are down to £70.

The Grammy's: My Picks of Best and Worst Dressed

Hola Chicas,

Well the Grammys are always a memorable event and 2012 was no exception. There were some amazing dresses and some wowza moments, and not always the good kind. Here we go...

Well Adele looked amazing in Armani Prive. She proves you don't need to be a size 2 to look gorgeous on the carpet. Not to mention her hair and makeup. Perfection.

How beaut does Carrie Underwood look? I love this dress by Gomez-Garcia from the second I saw it. The dress truly shines and so does she. Plus the back is a perfect cut to show a lil' skin.

Kelly looks stunning in Alberta Ferretti The embellishment is gorgeous and the afro-style hair is a perfect Grammy touch.

Rih looks beaut in this custom made Armani dress that she helped design, doesn't she? Yes it's a quite sexy with all the cuts but she can pull it off. He body is to die for. Gorgeous.

Now this particular pick is a little controversial. To some it may be the best and others the worse. It is the Grammys after all. The colour on this Jean-Paul Gaultier is gorgeous. One bad thing is the black underwear underneath, just a tiny bit OTT. Still, ya gotta love Fergie.
Okay, where to start..? This is just beyond. I'm a big fan of Nicki but this is a step too far, even for her. Really, a Pope? Plus her little red riding hood style Versace dress. Seriously not feeling it.

Katy looks stunning in the Ellie Saab dress. A little different from her usual crazy style but I love!

One word. Bleuch. So inappropriate, yea, model Anne Vyalitsyna, has a killer body but that doesn't mean you need to show the entire world in this Anthony Vararello.

Wow! The craziest thing is singer, Naddea, wore the same thing to the same event in 2010.

Thanks for reading dolls! Don't forget to comment down below and tell me your thoughts on this years Grammy Awards :)

HAUL!

Hey Dolls,

These are just a few things I picked up today in town. If you want any reviews on the products please let me know in the comment section below :)

Overview of the items

This sleeveless tee from Topshop is so cute and perfect for Valentines Day too! Even though I didn't even consider that when buying it. Simply just a coincidence. It reminds of a top version of the Wildfox Couture Jumper :
http://www.wildfoxcouture.co.uk/store/wildfox-red-sparkle-heart-baggy-beach-jumper.html
This top is €27.00 and perfect for anytime of year. The camera doesn't really pick up the heart too well. It's gold and sparkly and fades as it gets lower down the top.

This is a close-up of the gorgeous scarf I purchased in River Island for €17. Again the camera really doesn't do it justice. It's a vibrant blend of colours; blues, yellows, pinks and perfect for Spring and Summer! It feels very silky but is actually made of Polyester. I'm really excited about this purchase.

<---- Here is The Fab Pore by Soap&Glory. This is an intensive-action pore-refining facial peel. It contains some fancy ingredients such as fomes officinalis extract, salicylic acid, kaolin and vitamins E & C. It basically claims to reduce pore size. This was €9.14 from Boots.
This is an eyeshadow (duh!) from Benefit in the colour Blushing Bride. It's a pretty pale pink. I bought this in a discount makeup store so it was only a mere €4.50. Such a bargain!
This is the Urban Decay Pigment in Baked. I love their pigments their gorgeous. Very pigmented (of course!) and lovely and sparkly. This again was bought in the discount makeup store and was a very little €3.50. What a steal :)
Above are swatches of Baked (left) and Blushing Bride (right)

Well that is my haul for you all. Hope you enjoyed. I also bought some boring stationery and a magazine but nothing too exciting unfortunately!

Have a fabulous day dolls

Look for Less: Blake Lively

Hey Guys :)

So today will be the first post of a segment called "Look for Less". These will be posts giving you high street alternatives for celeb designer style! Look a million bucks for a fraction of the price.
This look is one of my style icon's looks, the gorgeous Blake Lively.

I love this look. I think it's perfect for this time of year. It's girly and cute yet classy. Perfect for a party and can also be formal.

The first think you'll need is a blazer like this one here. This is from Forever 21. It's slightly oversized and I especially love the cuff detail. Really cute!
Here's the link:
http://www.forever21.com/EU/Product/Product.aspx?BR=f21&Category=outerwear_career_blazer&ProductID=2005757801&VariantID=

Next is of course the dress! Here are two, both from ASOS.

 http://www.asos.com/ASOS/ASOS-Skater-Dress-With-Lace-Bustier/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=2056415&cid=8799&Rf900=1465&Rf961=3344&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=20&sort=-1&clr=Cream

http://www.asos.com/ASOS/ASOS-Mesh-Strapless-Dress-With-Pearl-Waist-Trim/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=1821527&cid=8799&Rf900=1465&Rf961=3344&sh=0&pge=2&pgesize=20&sort=-1&clr=Cream

I think these dresses are both really gorgeous and flattering. The first one would work great with the blazer and is a little more casual. The second has a stunning pearl band at the waist which is great to dress it up. I would pair this with a black blazer rather than the brown though.

Last but never least, shoes! Again from ASOS.

http://www.asos.com/countryid/1/ASOS/ASOS-POPPET-Platform-Suede-Court-Shoes/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=1874311&cid=6461&sh=0&pge=3&pgesize=20&sort=-1&clr=Green&MID=35718&affid=2134&siteID=0RpXOIXA500-QVUlXdf8fj1j6qd3.NDBPQ

Finally finish off with some chunky jewelry and you're set!

Thanks for reading dolls xo

Beauty Trends: Spring 2012!

Spring is here! Well according to the calendar anywhoo cause by the look of the weather where I live, you really would never know.

Anyway, onto the beauty trends. Here are the top six most popular beauty trends seen on the runway. Some are a little crazy but most are manageably pulled off.

1. Statement Lips:
This is one of the easier ones. Pop on a bright red, orange, purple, blue or even gray and you're set.
Runways: Prabal Gurung, Erdem and Mugler.
Try: Rouge Dior Lipstick in "Pink Caprice" ; Chanel Rouge Allure in "Passion"; Makeup Forever's "Satin Fuschia" ; MAC in "Lady Danger" ; "Infrared" and "Rio Rio" by Topshop

2. Winged Liner:
Whether the full Cleopatra liner of just a more simple, less dramatic look, liquid and gel liners are the way forward this season!
Runways: Fendi, Dolce&Gabbana and Kanye West
Try: Bobbie Brown Gel Liner in "Black Ink" ; MAC Blacktrack fluid liner ; L'oreal Super Liner

3. Wet Hair.
All over the runways we saw the "wet hair" look which is exactly what the title says. The aim is apparently a beachy vibe but is much more saturated than the typical saltwater beach waves. Do be warned you may just look like someone who ran out the door before blow drying rather than a beauty queen.
Runways: Victoria Beckham, Alexander Wang
Try: a shower; recommended not to use gel but try mousse

4. Bright Hair
From pinks to blues to reds. Colourful hair was all over the runway. This one is a little daring. Try some semi permanent or wash out dye first. Or even some bright extensions!
Runways: Mulberry, Gucci
Try: Never dyed my hair so not much assistance! Do comment though.

5. Au Natural
This season is quite muted makeup. Neutral eyes, lips, cheeks. All a bronzy dewy look.
Runways: Diane Von Furstenberg, Alexander McQueen
Try: NAKED Palette, A bit of highlighter and nude lipstick

6. Full Brows
Put down those tweezers and embrace your brows! It's all about unkept bushier brows (within reason that is). Think more masculine, less permanently surprised arches.
Runways: Christopher Kane, Wes Gordon
Try: Not plucking
