NOTD: Nicole by OPI: A Million Sparkles

Hey Girlies,

I was recently gifted this shade by a friend, and knew I had to share it with you all!

"A Million Sparkles" is literally what it says on the tin. This Nicole by OPI shade is packed with glitter, small circular silver-gold and blue glitter teamed with pink strips of glitter also. The prominent colour here is blue.

This takes a few coats to build up, around 3-4 before full opacity is reached.
If you prefer, you can also use it as a topcoat to add a little sparkle to an otherwise boring shade!
The lasting power wasn't too great either, pretty much similar to most glitter polishes. This peeled of my nails after around 2 days.

Overall I think this is a gorgeous shade and very unique also. If you're a glitter-holic, like me, then this is definitely worth checking out!

Thanks for reading! What do you think of this polish?

IceCream Nail Tutorial!

Hello Ladies,

I always love browsing photos of nail art and just stumbled across a picture of IceCream nails! I instantly needed to recreate this look. They turned out better than I expected and thought , why not share it with all of you?

Here is my step-by-step guide on how to create ice cream nails:

1. Paint your nails, as normal, any colour you like! I would recommend a pastel/bright shade. I chose "Fuschia Wife" from Nicole by OPI. Allow to dry.

2. Then take a white polish. I used a limited edition MAC polish entitled "Vestral White". Blob this polish on so it looks as if it's dripping down about midway along your nails- do not worry about it looking neat and tidy!

3. Once this has dried, get a nail art pen or a thin brush. Dip this into a pastel colour of choice. I chose "Mint Candy Apple" by Essie. Apply this in thin, short lines on the white polish. These are your sprinkles!

4. Repeat step 3 using a different shade. I used "Do you Lilac It?" by OPI.

5. Finally add a blob of pink or red at the tip of your nail, representing the cherry on top!

And that's it! I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and do let me know if you tried it out, or tweet me a picture @missbeautyblogg .

Catrice Defining Duo Blush in 050 Apricot Smoothie

Hey Dolls,

I hope you're all doing well and enjoying the sunshine! I recently picked up this blush from Catrice and thought I'd share it with you. I don't find Catrice to be very widely available so when I saw it in a pharmacy whilst I was away, on sale, I thought it would be the perfect time to test it out!

Catrice describe this as a "Silky-Soft duo powder blush for a natural radiant complexion. Matt and shimmer effects shape the face. Dermatologically tested and oil-free."

"Apricot Smoothie" is a duo of shades, an orange and a pink, which blend together to create a gorgeous coral shade. The same blush is available in two other duo of shades, but I thought this one was most original and unlike anything I already have.

The packaging is simple; clear and plastic. Nothing too sturdy here and is honestly quite cheap looking.

Pigmentation wise, these are not very impressive when swatched, however, once applied these provide such a pretty pop of colour. I would definitely recommend trying these out as the swatch really doesn't do them justice!
Their lasting power is average, with them lasting around 5 hours on my skin. Do bear in mind that I have oily skin and this was without a primer. I'm sure it will last longer on others!

Overall I think this is a great blush for those on a budget. It is available from selected pharmacies and is currently reduced to €2, from the original price of €3.99.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in 'Lovesick' : Review & Swatches!

Hey Sweeties,

I hope you're all doing well and enjoying the last few weeks of Summer (sob!).
Recently I picked up one of the ever so popular Kissable Balm Stains from Revlon. Revlon have really upped their game recently and have brought some of the best cosmetics available from the high street.
These balm stains are no exception!

The packaging is quite simple but still chic and sleek. They are packaged in a plastic tube with a silver bottom. The colour of the tube corresponds with the shade of the lip stain which is very convenient!
These have been compared to the Clinique Chubby Sticks and I can't make much of a comment as I haven't tried those. What I can say is that the packaging is very similar and I don't give Revlon much praise as they basically copied Clinique's product but I am grateful for a more purse friendly version of the Chubby Sticks.

I picked up the shade #20 entitled 'Lovesick'. This is a hot fuschia pink. The balm stains are available in seven shades in UK/Ireland. The majority of the shades are quite vibrant with the exception of one or two.

The formula of these are a very similar to a lip balm and they glide on with ease. The pigmentation is unbelievable! They stay put all day and will not budge, they are more difficult to take off than to keep on all day! This is where the stain comes to play, they truly live up to their name. The applicator is similar to a crayon and makes for a mess-free application.
The one glitch in this product is the smell. They have this extremely strange, unpleasant smell. Thankfully this fades once applied, but it's no harm to mention as I was a bit taken aback at first!

Overall, this is a great product and definitely worth taking a look at the next time you're out and about!
These are currently on a special introductory offer in Boots for around €8 before increasing to around €11 (sorry I can't remember the exact prices!).

Trend Talk: Skulls!

Hey Sweeties!

Recently I have just been loving skulls! They are everywhere at the moment and really add a little something to a look, without looking too hardcore. I've decided to show my favourite skull accessories and how to incorporate them into an outfit.

• Scarf

This is one of my favourite ways of incorporating crazy prints into an outfit, without looking over the top. Alexander McQueen made skull scarves famous and an essential to every wardrobe, but if you're not willing to fork out 300 quid plus, there is always the affordable route! There have been a few McQueen copies floating around Penneys/Primark, usually under €7 so, so make sure to check out their stock. Topshop also have a great range of skull scarves, including this gorgeous cream one available here for £22.

 Jewellery

Another basic way to add skulls to a look is with jewellery. From necklaces to bracelets to rings, it's not too difficult to track down skull-style jewellery. Recently, I bought a gorgeous bauble style bracelet with tiny silver skulls for just a few euro from Penneys- bargain! Claires Accessories also do a great range of  affordable skull bracelets. This bracelet, pictured, from Topshop is very similar to my Penneys one and is super cute! Not too pricey either, at £8.50 .

Nails

What better way to spice up an outfit than with some crazy nail art? If you're not too handy with nail art yourself then not to worry as there are some amazing skull nail strips available. Try the Avril Lavigne Sally Hansen Salon Effects nail strips. She designed some super cute sparkly pink strips with black skulls that are available from eBay for around $11.99 .

Inglot Sleeks Cream Lip Paint: Review & Swatches!

Hey Girlies,

Recently I was taking a look around the shops and picked this up on a bit of a whim! I did recently hear about these, and it's not often I'm in an Inglot store, so I could justify the impulse buy.

Incase you haven't heard of Inglot, I'll give a quick intro. Inglot is a Polish brand, and is quickly growing. Many compare it to the quality of MAC but the prices are more affordable. There are a few stores/counters around Ireland. There's a store in Crescent Shopping Centre in Limerick, which is where I purchased this. They are also available in Dublin and Belfast.

This lip paint is in the shade number 96 and is a pretty pale pink. It is packaged in a simple test-tube style tube with a doe foot applicator. The cap also allows the product to stand up if that's desired.

The formula of these are very creamy, non-sticky and comfortable on the lips. They are not drying in the slightest and if anything, are a tad moisturising. These are also quite pigmented. I went for a more subtle colour, but there are plenty of more vibrant colours in the range which have fabulous pigmentation.

The only glitch in the product is the lasting power, which is similar to all lip gloss-style products. These only last for 1-2 hours maximum, so some reapplying is definitely needed! These also have a delicious smell! They smell like cupcakes- so yum!

For more information visit the Inglot website. These retail in Ireland €12.00 .
