25 Facts About Me

Hello Lovelies,

I was reading Sprinkle Of Glitter's blog earlier today and noticed she had just done a post entitled "25 Facts About Me". I love these sort of posts and being the totally unoriginal mind I am (not always, I promise!) I decided to do the same! I know you all don't know much about me so here are 25 random things you probably don't need/want to know, but I'm going to tell you anyway!

1. I lived in America for six years when I was younger. I lived in Pennsylvania and Florida.

2. The sight of mold physically makes me gag (TMI, sorry!).

3. I have an unexplainable love for the Eiffel Tower.

4. I saw Steven Gerrard with his family, whilst I was on holiday last Summer. We were both getting pizza from the same restaurant!

5. On the topic of celebrities, I also saw Penelope Cruz in the Nike store in London last year.
6. One day, I plan on living in LA.

7. I hope to study journalism in the future.

8. I have a fear of fire.

9. I hate phone call conversations.

10. I find elevator rides (is that the correct word?!) extremely awkward.

11. I have a mild (*ahem* HUGE) obsession with Justin Bieber.

12. I am extremely independent.

13. I love traveling and seeing new places.

14. When I was a baby, I got an awful dose of chicken pox, which left a faint scar next to my eye.

15. I hate when people sing me 'Happy Birthday'. Around my 5th birthday, I ran out of my birthday party crying when everyone started singing it!

16. I have two younger sisters, but recently have been longing for an older brother.

17. I love reading quotes about everything and anything from life to success to friendship! I just find them very uplifting.

18. I hate when people cry over silly and stupid small things. I just feel they're being very ungrateful for all the things they have in life.

19. I cannot stand being in very unnecessarily dramatic situations.

20. I feel very unkept when my nail polish is chipped.

21. I am mildly allergic to feathers.

22. I have a thing about having my own personal space.

23. My dad is like my best friend.

24. I love Josh Groban's voice, especially when he sings "To Where You Are".

25. My favourite colour is purple.

So there you are! If you fancy on doing this post please do and leave a link to it in the comments as I'd love to read it! If you don't blog, feel free to leave a few facts about yourself in the comments as I'm nosy and love to know these things!

Don't Worry, Be Happy!

Evening Sunshines!

Maybe it's just me, but I feel the world focuses on the negative far too often. We only hear about the bad news; tragedies, deaths, bombings etc. but never the good. I've decided to do what I can to change this by simply writing this blog post. And that's all it is, simple. It's so simple to spread a little happiness. If I achieve that in that blog post for at least one person, then I'm happy.

Source: Google Images
The only thing I can say is, if you're a worrier like me, don't sweat the small stuff. At the end of the day, that's all they are. Small stuff. If you forget something, lose something etc. just think things can always be worse. The way I stop myself worrying is by putting things into perspective.

Another tip is to focus on what you have, not what you don't have. You'll never be satisfied if you only focus on what you don't have. Focus on things like family, friends, your pet or even living in a first world country! The fact that you have internet access to read this makes you a minority of the world.

That's my piece of wisdom for the day. Take it or leave it, that's entirely up to you. Please let me know how you try to stay happy, I'd love to know!

Review: Maybelline Fit Me Powder

Hey Dolls,

Maybelline is one of my favourite drugstore makeup brands, and their Fit Me powder is my latest love from the brand. There's been a bit of buzz about the Fit Me range, nothing crazy, but I decided I needed to try out at least something from the range. I went for the powder in the shade 315 Soft Honey.

The Fit Me range consists of three products; foundation, concealer and powder. Maybelline describes their range as "Our Exclusive system fits together by shade numbers so for every Fit Me foundation there’s a Fit Me powder and Fit Me concealer for you. For coverage that is 100% you."
This means that finding a foundations, concealer and powder exactly the same shade is easier than ever!

This is a pressed powder and is simply packaged in a black compact. The powder lifts up and also contains a mirror and powder puff, which is very cute and perfect for powdering on the go!

I love this powder, and I will most likely be repurchasing in the future. It keeps my oily skin matte throughout the day and I have noticed that my makeup stays all-day, which is unusual for me. It's silky and lightweight formula means it doesn't clog my pores or gives me any patchiness, which is always a plus!

Overall, I would definitely recommend trying this out if your on the hunt for a new powder. It's also great for throwing in your handbag for touching up on the go!

Available for €8.99 from Boots

My Obsessions: Nail Art!

Hey Everyone,

Recently, I have been loving nail art! I always admire people with nail art so I've been attempting my own DIY designs myself. Something that has really inspired me regarding nail art, is 'The Wah Nails Book of Nail Art'. WAH is a nail art studio in London and the owner, Sharmadean Reid, has released a book filled with amazing tutorials on how to recreate some gorgeous nail designs yourself!

The book is filled with step-by-step guides explaining exactly how to recreate the looks as well as tons of photos of some awesome nail art. The book even comes with a page of super cute stickers! What's not to love?

If your planning on being creative and trying some nail art for yourself, the main things you'll need are: nail polish (duh!), nail art pens/tip painter, nail file and some studs and rhinestones (optional).
Pictured, I have a few of my favourite nail accessories/tools. I am obsessed with my adorable Eiffel Tower nail file from Forever 21! The rhinestone wheel is from Topshop and the nail art tip painter is from Penneys/Primark. It is perfect for creating intricate designs on your nails and are affordable too, at around €2 a pop! The Models Own nail art pens are also great (supposedly, I've never actually tried them!).

If you're a fellow polish-aholic like me, I would definitely recommend getting this book or even checking out websites/blogs such as http://www.thenailasaurus.com. Make sure to look out for my upcoming NOTD posts, as I'll be featuring some of my DIY nail art jobs!

WAH nail art book available from Urban Outfitters for €13.00

Bio-Oil: Review!

Hello Lovelies,

I hope you're all doing very well and I wish you a very happy New Year! The holidays are now officially over *sad face* and normality has been restored. Anyway, on with the review!

Most of us will suffer from some type of scarring at some point in our lives. Whether it be stretch marks, age marks, acne scars etc.. Bio-Oil* is the perfect product that helps get rid of, or at least fade, those pesky scars. It is actually the number 1 selling scar and stretch mark product

Now down to the science stuff, how exactly does Bio-Oil work?
It contains some great ingredients and vitamins including vitamin A and E with Calendula, Lavender, Rosemary and Chamomile oils. It also includes the breakthrough ingredient PurCellin Oil. This ingredient is unique to Bio-Oil and ensures that all these wonderful ingredients are easily-absorbed deep into the second main layer of the skin where they can provide targeted treatment.

The important thing is if the product actually works. I tested Bio-Oil for a few months, they recommend at least using for 3 months to gain results. I noticed my scars improving very much, even within two weeks! My scars had faded and there was definitely an overall improvement in the texture and look of my skin in the areas I has used the product on.

Overall, if you suffer from any type of scarring or marks, I would definitely recommend Bio-Oil. It is a light oil that is soothing and great for sensitive skin also. Also, it lasts for a long time as a little goes a long way!

Available from Boots and many pharmacies from €9.99
