How I Style: Skater/Circle Skirts

Skater skirts (or circle skirts) are everywhere lately and are a staple fashion item for Spring and Summer this year. They're one of my favourite clothing items for this season and I know I'll be wearing them all the time when the weather (hopefully) warms up!

Skater skirts can be worn multiple ways. They're also super flattering and suit any body shape so don't worry if you feel not all trends work with your shape, as this one is pretty universal. I'm going to show you two looks, on how I style skater skirts. One is for casual occasions and the other for slightly dressier occasions.

  • Casual

This is the perfect look if you're going shopping, to the pool, meeting with friends- really any casual occasion. It's comfortable and stylish so it ticks all the boxes! I decided to go with a light wash denim skater skirt (€25 River Island) as it's super versatile, and can be worn with numerous pieces. I paired it with this simple cropped tee (£8 Topshop) which is a staple piece for Summer. To finish the look pop on some crotchet Toms (€58 Schuh) and a tan fringe bag (€45 River Island) to carry around all your essentials.

  • Dressy

This look is perfect for a night out, whether it be to a party or just out to dinner with family or friends. I adore this lace circle skirt from Topshop (€38) as it can be dressed up or down and adds a touch of femininity to any look. This embellished top (£39 Miss Selfridge) is stunningly detailed and instantly glams up the ensemble. Top of the look with some killer wedges (£80 Topshop) and some rings to add a pop of colour to the outfit (£2.50 Misbehave) and you're good to go!

I hope you like these looks and let me know how you style skater/circle skirts!

How I Style: Leggings

Hey Dolls,

One of the toughest things, when it comes to fashion, is looking cute but being comfy. Dresses and skirts can be comfortable but there's always the worry in the back of your head that you may have a Marilyn Monroe moment, or that your legs aren't crossed! Jeans and many other pants can be uncomfortable and restricting. My favourite type of bottom, are leggings!

For some reason, leggings seem to be a controversial clothing item! Many people believe strongly that leggings are not pants and shouldn't be worn as pants. Personally, I don't really agree but I don't completely disagree either. I think that leggings can be worn as pants as long as they are worn with a loose and/or a baggy top or jumper. I definitely wouldn't recommend wearing a short top with leggings, unless you like the camel toe look (which no one does!).

Anyway, I'm going to show you my personal recommendations on how to style leggings. The best part is that leggings come in such a wide variety of colours, prints and materials.

  • Comfy Casual
This is perfect for school, college or days when you aren't doing much. Some basic leggings and a cute knitted jumper keeps you warm, comfy and cute! I love this jumper from Topshop (€61) and these thick, panel leggings from River Island (€25).

  • Lunch with Friends
This outfit is a more formal than the last, but still low-key. Perfect for going to lunch with some friends or going shopping! These cream leggings, from River Island (€33.71 on ASOS), with the panel down the side are so classy and this ASOS bow back denim shirt (€51.24) is to die for!

  • Night Out
The last look I'll show is styling leggings for a night out. A bit of bling and some killer heels always do the trick. These leggings are sure to stand out thanks to the amazing tassel detail (€53.95 ASOS). Pair them with a embellished peplum (€47.20 Lipsy at ASOS) and some killer heels (Boohoo €55)  and you're good to go.

Let me know if you are loving leggings as much as I am and what your favourite look is!
